Smart Choice™ gives administrators a trusted means to implement and manage an automated and paperless student application process and selection lottery (blind lottery) in a timely and effective manner.

Online Applications
The Smart Choice Applications™ component is an online software component that provides parents with a quick and simple online application process. Parents create applications for one or more children with a single sign-on account. Parents can apply to one or more programs, ranking their preferences, depending on program policies. Email alerts and notices inform parents of deadlines, next-steps and other important info to ensure a successful application submission.
Program & Application Administration
The Smart Choice Administration™ component provides school system administrators with powerful features packaged in a system that’s fast, efficient and easy to use. Administrators can add administrative users with limited or full access to the administrative tools and add new programs and program application criteria in minutes. These are just a few of the many tools available to administrators. Powerful reporting features allow administrators to review and edit applications, monitor application progress and send out notifications to parents.
Student Selection Lottery
The Smart Choice Lottery™ component is the blind lottery parents, teachers and administrators can trust to be fair and secure. Smart Choice™ provides safeguards to protect the integrity of your school system’s blind lottery process. The Smart Choice Lottery™ component is configured to select students based on your school or district’s selection criteria making sure that each lottery is fair, efficient and tailored to your needs. Using the parent notification component, status updates can be made in real time, ensuring all parents are notified of their student’s placement with just one click.
Wait List
The Smart Choice Wait List™ component allows administrators to manage one central real-time wait list, eliminating errors and the tedious process of updating multiple documents. Working together with the Smart Choice Lottery™ component, the Wail List component automatically manages selection results and notifications in real-time.
Following lottery selection, for students not selected, parents are notified of their student’s wait list status and rank. The system allows for selected applicants to accept or decline their seat within the program. When seats are declined and become available, wait list students are moved into open seats and parents are automatically notified of the changes.
