ABC Unified School District began using the Smart Choice platform to administer their open enrollment process for choice and magnet programs in early 2013. With a diverse population the Smart Choice system has accommodated a diverse population and made the process easy for applicants with varying technical abilities and diverse native languages.

The system features an address look-up feature, which integrates with the district’s street finder system making it simple to select information like “base” or “home school” for prioritization of applicants.

The Smart Choice platform also integrates with the Aeires® student Information system used by ABCUSD. The integration makes it easy for current students of the district to auto-populate application information directly from their student file within the SIS using student ID number, first name, last name and date of birth.
